Radium Engineering FHST – Nissan R32 GT-R

The Radium Engineering FHST (Fuel Hanger Surge Tank) is the ultimate solution for fuel starvation, a common issue in aggressive driving. This surge tank system ensures stable fuel pressure under all conditions, preventing engine damage due to lean fuel mixtures. The FHST system is a fully functional surge tank contained inside the OEM fuel tank and can be configured with 1, 2, or 3 high-pressure pumps, plus a lift pump to keep the surge tank full. It is compatible with all alternative fuels, including E85, and requires no vehicle modifications for installation.

The system is designed for straightforward installation, with no grinding or bending required. It features a drop-in design that works seamlessly with the factory fuel tank and can meet the fuel demands of engines at any power level.

Fuel Surge Tank:
The surge tank works by keeping fuel trapped around the pump(s) to prevent fuel starvation and maintain steady fuel supply. The system uses a lift pump, fuel pressure regulator (FPR) return, and two one-way fill valves to keep the surge tank full at all times. The included stainless steel collector box mounts to the fuel tank floor and features a one-way trap door to prevent pump starvation.

Once the surge tank is full, excess fuel flows back into the main tank. The included SAE quick-connect fitting makes assembly easy, and the system uses lightweight, streamlined components for installation and maintenance.

Fuel Filtration:
The system includes a fuel sock filter for the lift pump and a mesh filter at the bottom of the surge tank assembly. Fuel cannot pass between the three independent filtration chambers, ensuring clean fuel is supplied to the engine.

Plumbing:
Preinstalled barb fittings allow for direct connection to factory fuel hoses. The system includes 8AN feed and 6AN return adapter fittings for aftermarket -AN style hoses. The fuel lines are routed using billet aluminum brake line retainers, and the installation requires no cutting or drilling.

Fuel Pump Information:
The FHST is designed to accommodate up to 3 surge tank pumps and 1 lift pump. It supports a variety of fuel pumps, including Walbro and AEM models. Pumps are sold separately, and a lift pump is required for all installations.

Electrical:
The FHST features custom-designed, anti-rotation stainless steel electrical studs that can handle high current demands. The connections are hermetically sealed, and the system includes non-conductive anodized aluminum acorn nuts for safety. Wiring and relays for a single pump are included, with additional kits available for adding more pumps.
