Radium Engineering Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit PCV – Nissan R35 GT-R

The Radium Engineering PCV Catch Can Kit for the Nissan R35 GT-R runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. This kit mounts on the LH side engine compartment and helps prevent crankcase vapours, unspent fuel, and oil sludge from entering the intake manifold. During normal operation, the PCV hoses experience “metered” vacuum, which draws out unwanted contaminants. However, after high-load runs, this system can intercept oil and other blow-by liquids before they can cause damage or contamination in the intake system.

When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes, preventing any flow through the hose. This catch can system ensures that the intake manifold remains free of harmful substances, improving engine performance and preventing possible damage over time. The catch can must be emptied periodically to maintain optimal performance.

Notes:

1. The PCV kit is not directly compatible with 08-11 GT-Rs which did not have an OEM strut bar.

2. The PCV kit is compatible and recommended to be used with the dual CCV catch can kit (see 20-0566).

3. No inline check valve is required since Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, allowing for a direct intake manifold connection.

4. For RHD vehicles, some modifications may be required for catch can mounting.
